Baltimore GiveCamp

Mission

Baltimore GiveCamp is an organization that connects willing professional and technical volunteers with nonprofit organizations for the purpose of making community outreach visions become a reality while providing an enjoyable and meaningful experience for all involved.

History

Since 2011, Baltimore GiveCamp has organized GiveCamp events that have contributed over $1 million in technical development services to the Maryland Nonprofit Community.

What is Baltimore GiveCamp?

Baltimore GiveCamp (BGC) is an organization that puts people together to make "good" happen. What we focus on is technology and development. Who we do it for are nonprofit organizations in the Maryland area.

BGC works year-round helping nonprofit organizations. During the fall each year, we produce a weekend long technical marathon event where developers, designers, database developers, project managers, business analysts, technical team leaders, graphic designers, and more come together to help over 30 Maryland nonprofit organizations.

In preparation for the weekend event in fall, we have a series of pre-camp events aimed at gathering requirements, assessing needs, and architecting solutions. Our organization has over 400 registered volunteers that we then recruit to help make dreams become a reality.

BGC has a variety of projects at the weekend event. Projects range from website design and development through database development and general operational solutions. All projects are for meeting the needs of organizations that cannot otherwise afford to have such development work completed. All of our teams and staff are volunteers and BGC is truly a labor of love to help in so many ways.
